Power-generating Live Plants: The Potential of Harnessing Bioelectricity for Green Network

The purpose of this study is to further the study of other alternative energy resources that can be found in the Philippines since the country is highly dependent on nonrenewable energy. This research is specifically focused on discussing the potential of bioelectricity which is the energy created by any living organism and on a single plant material which is a tomato that was chosen because of its abundance in the country. Converting the electricity produced by the tomato plant into bioelectricity, opens up different opportunities for the plant such as its potential for the Green Network, it can contribute to fields like Carbon-neutral technology, which is where the main goal is to balance the carbon dioxide production by the different non-renewable energy sources the world is using, it also has potential on being used in organic electronics which focus on creating a smaller, smarter and flexible electronics.
