AgriSmart: IoT System-Based Weather Monitoring System for Smart Agriculture in Puerto Princesa, Palawan

The economy of Puerto Princesa City is abundant in agriculture. It is practically a food self-sufficient City in the Philippines. Weather conditions have become more erratic and unpredictable in recent years, which might have disastrous consequences for agricultural production. Thus, this paper presents the proposed system that would aid the farmers in performing agricultural operation in real-time, allowing them to employ agricultural resources efficiently. The Internet of Things was utilized through the use of a system of smart sensors such as temperature and humidity, light intensity, atmospheric pressure, wind speed, and soil moisture that can be used to control and monitor objects from anywhere on the Internet. The system has a graphical user interface for viewing the real-time weather parameters through Blynk smartphone application, monitoring weather parameters, viewing real-time clock in an OLED display. Results from forecast weather sensors were compared to the results of AgriSmart in which it gave a 2.50% error for the temperature sensor, 1.77% error for the altitude, 0.07% for the atmospheric pressure, 1% error for the soil moisture, and 1.70% error for the wind speed.
