Recent Advances in Cognition-Driven EM Optimization Techniques for Microwave Filters

Accurate high frequency microwave component design usually needs electromagnetic (EM)-based optimizations. In EM-based optimization process, repetitive EM simulations are usually required for different geometrical variables, which makes the optimization computationally expensive. Recently, cognition-driven EM optimization methods have been presented to improve the ability of escaping the local minima and to accelerate the process of optimization. An overview of recent developments in cognition-driven EM optimization strategies for microwave filter design is given in this paper.
