Designs and Applications of Amplitude-Phase Controllable Metasurfaces

In this paper, we introduce several novel amplitude-phase controllable metasurfaces, including their meta-atom structures, metasurface designs and functional applications. A typical multi-layer meta-atom with patches and slot is emphasized as a useful strategy for the manipulations of copolarized amplitude and phase independently and simultaneously, even in anisotropic way. Based on this ability, we can achieve various functionalities such as multi-beam radiation, Airy-beam forming, near-field wave-front constructions, full-space electromagnetic manipulations etc. The proposal of amplitude-phase controllable metasurfaces show excellent performances, indicating more potential applications in communication and radar systems.
