An Absorptive Single-Ended-to-Balanced Power Divider Based on Integrated Substrate Gap Waveguide for 5G Millimeter-Wave Applications

For 5G millimeter-wave mobile communication, an absorptive single-end-to-balanced power divider (SETB PD) based on integrated substrate gap waveguide (ISGW) is proposed. Based on the three-layer ISGW structure which is easy to be wired, an absorption network with common-mode(CM) noise absorption is designed at balanced ports by combining hybrid packaged-microstrip-line/slotline transition structure and half-wavelength slotline with loaded resistor. The results show that the return loss of single port, the isolation of two output ports, CM suppression and DM-CM conversion suppression are higher than 10dB, 12.5dB, 36.5dB and 35.4dB respectively, from 21.4 to 35.9GHz with 50% fractional bandwidth. The CM return loss of the balanced output ports are higher than 10dB from 26.8 to 33.2GHz with 21% fractional bandwidth.
