Broadband Dual Polarized Filtering Magnetoelectric Dipole with Low Profile

A broadband, dual polarized magnetoelectric dipole (ME-dipole) filtering antenna with a low profile was proposed in this letter. This antenna consists of four patches with etched slots, four metal shorting posts, a ground with cross slots and a fork shaped feed network. A lower passband edge radiation null can be generated by elaborate slotting in the patch. In addition, an upper passband edge radiation null can be realized by controlling the length of the feed network, and the U-shaped parasitic branches further improves upper stopband suppression. The above nulls all can be independently controlled. Simulated results indicate that the proposed prototype achieves an impedance bandwidth of 33.8% (2.75 GHz-3.87 GHz), and the profile of proposed antenna as low as 0.11λ.
