Animal Repellent Smart System using AI based Edge Computing

During recent times, edge computing is becoming an essential technology for the development of real time applications which have the capabilities to move, process, and store the data close to end devices. It helps to improve the response time, to reduce the latency and ensures secure data exchange. This study focuses on an application, which is used as a smart farming tool to protect the crops from ungulate attacks and thereby reducing the crop damage by creating fences (virtual) with the help of computer vision and ultrasound emission. It begins with a device which generates ultrasound waves to drive the ungulates away from the crop field. In this work the design, development, and assessment of an intelligent animal repulsion system using ultrasound waves by detecting, recognizing the ungulates has been provided. Here, the proposed method deploys and evaluates various edge devices running real time objection detection with customized training models to recognize and detect the ungulates with high precision.
