A Navigation Grade, Software Defined Gyroscope and Extensions for Generic Vibratory Inertial Sensors

This paper describes an MCU-based software defined gyroscope (SDG) capable of Navigation Grade performance. Design details and performance of key sub-systems are presented. Integration of this SDG into an Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) is discussed, and critical testing and communication issues are reviewed.
