Persistent Monitoring of Railway Bridge Piers

Continuous bridge monitoring is essential to ensure the safety. The elevation of the top surface of the bridge occurs due to the shift that is occurred by the piers of the bridge. The main reason for the shift of these piers is due to soil erosion that occurs during cyclones, floods, earthquakes and other natural calamities. Determining this shift and displaying it to the concerns will be helpful and decreases the physical evaluation time. If the shift happens there is a chance of huge human loss and these bridges are unfit for travelling. The main objective of the project is to find the shift using sensors and develop a website which monitors the bridge condition continuously and the website contains readings about the shift in the form of graphs.
