Aeroelastic Analysis in a Hybrid Composite by Embedding Shape Memory Alloy*

The engineering world is moving toward weight reduction to increase overall performance. Smart structures are becoming a new area of research in the aerospace domain. To improve the wing performance, the focus is on reducing the aeroelastic problems by embedding smart materials into the structure and making an adaptive structure.The linear and Nonlinear analysis in frequency and time domain is performed on hybrid composite beam with and without SMA. The postponement of flutter speed is improved by embedding the SMA in the Hybrid composite.
