Customised Design of 16-Bit DSP Processor for Signal Processing Applications

The implementation of processors for real world signal applications which are manipulated mathematically tends to be known as Digital Signal Processor (DSP). Taking advantage of architectural optimizations., the modern development of a DSP is possible. The present existing processor uses Von-Neuman and Harvard based architecture for allotting various instructions. The problem statement speaks volume in terms of Speed and Delay with a fewer capability. The proposed methodology built using Kintex Ultrascale board helps to overcome the problems., which includes designing and upgrading the architecture with the implementation BRAM which acts a replacement to conventional ones. This change helps to reduce the timing delay and critical path delay making it much more efficient to use for this modified design of the 16-bit processor which is executed using Xilinx vivado tool.
