An Analytical Survey on Optimized Authentication Techniques in OneM2M

The world is constantly developing, with the number of connected devices rapidly outnumbering the world's mobile phone population. This surge of hyperconnectivity is altering the way people live and work. OneM2M standards were created to make networking more interoperable. The security of such ecosystem is becoming a great challenge. OneM2M is an Internet of Things and machine-to-machine communication standardization organization that sets guidelines to enable interoperability between devices. Although the OneM2M standard provides basic security principles like authentication, authorization, privacy, integrity, and access control. However, it lacks real-world implementation, and has limited device applications. This necessitates the development of more effective security solutions. The scope of this study is concerned with authentication techniques for finer results. A complete examination of the contributions made in this subject by scholars worldwide has been examined and categorized. The research will assist to design solutions and fulfil growing security standards by serving as basis to enhanced security, breaking down barriers and enabling intriguing new possibilities.
