Influence of Shadow Mask on PV Arrays and Maximum Power Point Tracing

Photovoltaic power generation is becoming more and more popular, but its output characteristics are limited by many factors, especially shadow masking, which seriously affects the normal operation of photovoltaic arrays. By PSCAD software to establish the corresponding model to explore the shadow masking on the impact of photovoltaic arrays; By comparing the output voltage, output current and output power curve of different light intensity, the influence of different shadow intensity on the output characteristics of PV array was obtained. A brief introduction to the conductance increment method is presented; Based on the conductance increment method the maximum power point of the PV array is tracked by establishing the simulation model. The experimental results show that the maximum power point can be captured.
