Evaluating the Impact of Residents’ Income on Residents’ Consumption Based on MATLAB

In recent years, with the continuous increment of Chinese people's income, consumption has also increased. At the same time, it has become an important development direction for China to develop the system of its own economy by targeting its own production factors and markets. Therefore, it is urgent to carry out mathematical modeling of residents' income and consumption, and accurately evaluate consumption as an important factor of economic growth, which will promote the growth of the economy and residents' income. Based on the data of "China Statistical Yearbook" from 1981 to 2020, this paper uses household consumption as the dependent outcome variable, and takes national economy, household income and price index as the main influencing factors to analyze the relationship between household income and household consumption. A model is built to evaluate the income and consumption of residents. It is expected that this model will be helpful in formulating China's economic policies.
