Preliminary Feasibility Study of Quantum Key Distribution for Future Air Traffic Management Systems

The authors conducted a preliminary feasibility study on applying quantum key delivery (QKD) to future air traffic management systems. We evaluated the number of bits required to exchange the information needed for air traffic management systems to ensure air traffic safety and found that the currently feasible QKD key generation rate is sufficient for the daily operations of airlines.
