The Use of an Alternative Fuel in an Internal Combustion Engine with the Effect of Auto-Ignition

Annotation. This article discusses the use of an alternative fuel type in internal combustion engines (ICE), which is based on the self-ignition effect. A comparative table of the main characteristics of dimethyl ether and diesel fuel with an ultra-low sulfur content is formed. An adaptive scheme for introducing an alternative fuel supply system for internal combustion engines has been developed, with subsequent analysis of design features. Graphs of the effect of injection conditions on fuel injection speed characteristics are presented. The distribution of droplets of two types of power plant power supplies by size was analyzed. A qualitative study of the results of the amounts of emissions of the main types of pollutants into the atmosphere in comparison with diesel fuel was carried out, and the corresponding graphs were formed on the basis of the obtained data. In the course of the conducted research, a conclusion was formulated that allows evaluating the effectiveness of using this type of alternative fuel in internal combustion engines with the effect of auto-ignition.
