Stability Calculation and Buckling Finite Element Analysis of Non-Metallic Shells

In the field of marine engineering, some detection equipment requires small volume, light weight and easy distribution and recycling. It is obvious that the use of conventional metal materials can not meet the use needs. In addition, due to the harsh marine environment, some components can only be processed and made of non-magnetic materials. Due to the advantages of stable properties, corrosion resistance, high temperature resistance and high specific strength, non-metallic materials, especially engineering plastics, show great potential in the application field of marine engineering equipment because of their low cost and low density. In this paper, taking a pressure shell made of engineering plastics as an example, the stability of the shell is calculated, the buckling analysis of the shell is carried out by ANSYS, the finite element calculation results are compared with the calculation results of Mises formula, and the conclusion of shell stability is given, which provides a reference for the design of the shell.
