Impact of Dielectric Substrate on the performance of Microstrip Patch Antenna at millimeter wave frequency

This research compares various substrates, including FR4 Glass Epoxy, RO4003, Taconic TLC, and RT - Duroid, that can be utilized to make Microstrip Patch Antennas that work at 28 GHz. This review study compares various substrates and makes a recommendation for one which can be utilised in a microstrio patch antenna with a frequency of 28GHz. The substrate length and width are atken to be half wavelength. The dimension of the substrate excluding its thickness is kept constant. The result obtained through simulation shows RT duroid 5880 offers better results in comparison with other dielectric substrate at the given operating frequency 28GHz, in the given constraint. To achieve better reflection coefficient parametric change in patch length and width can be done to achieve better reflection coefficient and better directivity.
