Low Noise OPGW Gallop Monitoring Based on FBG-FP System with Reference Signal

In recent years, vibration sensing system based on fiber Bragg grating arrays has been widely studied in optical fiber composite overhead ground wire health monitoring. However, the harsh and complex working environment often leads to the low signal-to-noise ratio of the sensing system. To solve this problem, we propose a noise reduction method based on adaptive reference signal processing. At the initial position of the gallop monitoring array, a reference sensor is selected to output the reference signal, and with data processing, the final signal is output together with other sensors. The actual gallop monitor results show that, in the very low-frequency gallop environment of about 1.2 Hz caused by breeze, the proposed method can not only effectively improve the signal quality, but also solve the problem of signal mutation caused by system saturation or external environment interference, proving that our method has a good application prospect in gallop monitoring for electric transmission line.
