Design and Analysis of a Compact and Flexible Octagon Shape Antenna

In this paper compact flexible octagon shape antenna with a partial ground plane is presented. Jeans fabric is the material used as a substrate while designing the antenna whereas copper tape is used for the fabrication of the patch and ground plane. A line fed circular-slotted flexible octagon shape antenna for wireless and Bluetooth applications is proposed in the current work. The CST Software has been utilized for simulating the anticipated antenna. The key parameters like return loss, input impedance and gain are studied, simulated and optimized. The presented antenna provides wide bandwidth of 64.02% (2.58 GHz) covering the range from 2.74-5.32 GHz.
