Quantitative Evaluation of System Safety Assessment Considering EWIS Failures

The Electrical Wiring Interconnection System is an important part of civil aircraft design. With the issuance of the Airworthiness Regulation subpart H for EWIS, the safety of EWIS has received more and more attention. The safety of EWIS assembly and components has been widely studied and applied. At the same time, it is more necessary to introduce the failure of EWIS in the system safety assessment. This paper analyzes the failures of EWIS and the relationship with equipment failures, proposes a method to consider EWIS failures and its common mode failures in system safety assessment. Through relevant application examples, it is shown that this method can be effectively used to carrying out system safety assessment with EWIS failures.
