Analysis and Modeling of Isolated Weinberg Converter

The isolated Weinberg converter is suitable for aerospace applications due to its ability to limit transient short-circuit currents. Its duty cycle can be adjusted between $0 \sim 1$, so it has the potential for wide voltage output. With a duty cycle of 0.5 as the boundary, its working modes are significantly different. In this paper, the working modes and waveforms with both two duty cycles are analyzed in detail, and a simplified single-transistor equivalent circuit is proposed. On this basis, the steady-state gain and voltage stress expressions are derived, and a linearized small-signal model is established. Finally, the simulation verification and frequency scanning analysis are carried out, which are highly consistent with the theoretical analysis, verifying the correctness of the proposed model.
