Copper and Optical Networks Readiness Index Evaluation within Organizations

One of the important requirements for high quality network applications is to have a strong communication network infrastructure, copper or optical fiber, in/between cities and within organizations. It is very important to evaluate readiness of communication networks in both sides: Network Service Providers (NSPs) side and user's side. Users side can be individuals (sometimes called citizens) or organizations. This paper proposes four methods for evaluating Network Readiness Index (NRI) within organizations: Two methods for Copper Network Readiness Index (CNRI) and another two for Optical Network Readiness Index (ONRI). The first one is called “Building Copper Network Readiness Index (BCNRI)”. The second one is called “Campus Copper Network Readiness Index (CCNRI)”. The third one is called “Building Optical Network Readiness Index (BONRI)”. The fourth one is called “Campus Optical Network Readiness Index (CONRI)”. The four methods can be generalized to be used for any organization consists of more than one branch in different cities. The branch itself may consist of one campus or more.
