A Soft Switching Three-phase Current-fed Bidirectional Converter with Low Input Current Ripple for energy storage system Applications

Renewable energies have many applications in industry. With renewable energy sources, it is common to use the energy storage systems such as batteries and bidirectional converters to connect them. In this paper, a three-phase current-fed bidirectional converter for connecting to batteries is presented. The input current ripple is low, therefore it can increase the lifespan of batteries. The proposed structure has only one control variable and this reduces the converter complexity. Zero voltage switching (ZVS) is achieved, so switching losses can be reduced. In this paper, the proposed structure and its mathematical analysis are presented. Also, to prove the correct operation of the converter, it has been simulated and its results will be mentioned.
