Analysis of energy transformer efficiency in heat supply system

Energy transformers convert low-potential or excess energy into usable energy. In heat supply systems, energy transformers are mainly used to change the temperature and pressure of coolant flows and can both increase the energy potential and decrease it. In this study, the proposed schematic solution for a heat supply system, in which a steam-compression heat pump localized in the heat point is used as an energy transformer. The modes of operation are defined and the analysis of energy transformer efficiency for given conditions is performed. Material, thermal and thermodynamic balances have been drawn up and efficiency indicators have been determined. Analysis of the obtained results showed that the use of energy transformer in the heat point increases the efficiency of heat supply by reducing the consumption of purchased heat, but the effect of use, but the effect of use is limited by operating conditions and costs.
