Simulation Research of Dam Break Flood in Urban Area Based on TELEMAC-2D Model

Dam break flood usually has high and large flood peak, which will bring great threat to the life and property safety of people in the downstream area. Through the numerical simulation method to determine the occurrence of dam failure process, predict the dam after the flood routing process, can provide scientific reference basis for reservoir disaster prevention and mitigation. The results show that under instantaneous dam break, the maximum flood flow and maximum flow rate of downstream dam can reach 4400m

/s and 12m/s respectively. In Zhengzhou city, the flood level of sections from Changjiang Road to Longhai Middle Road, Songshan Road to Jinshui Road and Nanyang Road to Er-qi Road was higher than the flood dikes on both sides, and the flood overflowed into Jinshui River, causing damage to some areas on both sides. The analysis results can provide support for the preparation of emergency plans for the dam safety management of Guojiazui Reservoir, and provide reference for urban flood emergency rescue measures.
