The TCM medication rule analysis for emotional diseases caused by panic disorder based on data mining

Prescriptions found in ancient and modern medical books were analyzed in this study, and the medication rules were mined to provide effective guidance for the clinical treatment of emotional diseases and modern psychosomatic diseases. First, 101 prescriptions of panic disease were extracted, including 217 traditional Chinese medicines with a total frequency of 1154. Second, the medication rules of these prescriptions were analyzed by data mining methods, such as frequency statistics, association rules mining and cluster analysis. The results indicated that four herbal medicines, namely Polygala, Poria, Angelica Sinensis and Semen Ziziphi Spinosae, were used more than 30 times. For medicines whose usage frequency ≥ 0.5%, their four properties were warm, flat, slightly cold and cold; the Jive tastes were sweet, bitter and pungent; and their channel tropisms were mainly heart, lung, liver and spleen. There were five drug pairs used frequently including Semen Ziziphi Spinosae-Polygala, Liquorice-Poria, which were found by association rules analysis. The drug pairs with higher correlation coefficient were for sedation, qi-regulating and qi-tonifying. The clustering results were composed of three clusters: nourishing heart and quieting spirit, qi-regulating and cholagogue, and accelerating blood circulation.
