A Comparative Analysis of Legal Issues in Medical Informatics Abroad and in China

Research Purpose This article aims at understanding the important laws and regulations in medical informatics in order to improve the awareness of medical informatics professionals on the risks associated with the use of information, and ensure the implementation of the latest laws, regulations and related policies. Proposed Methods This article will describe and analyse the legal issues in Medical Informatics both abroad and in China. Results The relevant laws and regulations of typical foreign countries help protect health records and data in research. In China, the research on the legal issues of medical informatics on data sharing is lacking. China has not yet completed its personal information protection legal system, the current privacy protection system is insufficient. Conclusion The highest priority of the health information management team must be patient safety. Understanding the important laws and regulations in medical informatics is essential for researchers and practitioners in the discipline to establish standardized research and operations.
