Impact Assesment of Microgrid Towards Achieving Carbon Neutrality: A Case Study

In the fast-growing power demand by the society, reduction in causes of pollution is also the crucial point to be focused, along with the fulfilment of energy demand only. In order to do so, clean and renewable sources of energy play a vital role. Microgrid are the most suitable technique to implement clean and renewable energy sources. Even after implementing microgrid technique and renewables as sources there are still carbon emission in form of direct emission or indirect emission, so along with direct emission we need to reduce indirect emission also. This scenario suggests the need of carbon footprinting from any power resource in order to reduce the adverse impacts. This paper focus on the evaluation of both direct and indirect carbon footprint for Jamia Millia Islamia University campus, located in Delhi, India. The major objective of this case study is to reduce the CO

emission within specified limit and necessity of more renewable based microgrid.
