Novel Quad–Band Decagon Shaped Patch Antenna for Wireless Applications

The novel quad band antenna is designed in this work which is of dimension of 28 × 28 × 6 mm

. The quad band antenna is designed over the FR4 dielectric material with the effective permittivity of 4.4. The shape of the preferred is Decagon and the multiband operation in the Decagon is realized with the deployment of five square shaped slots. With the aid of High Frequency Structure Simulator (HFSS) software, the antenna is stimulated. The antenna resonates at 4.3 GHz, 7.7 GHz, 10.3 GHz, 14.5 GHz. The S

values of the designed decagon quad band antenna are -21 dB for band 1, -22 dB for band 2, -16 dB for band 3, -25 dB. This study has used the decagon structure for designing the antenna, the proposed design has used five square shaped slots. The VSWR values for 3.77 GHz to 5.15 GHz band is 1.2, 7.22 GHz to 8.26 GHz band is 1.3, 9.89 GHz to 10.79 GHz band is 1.14, 13.95 GHz to 14.72 GHz band is 1.17.
