Review of Power Quality Issues in Smart Grid

Many factors must be considered and adapted to the new circumstances when converting outdated electrical systems to intelligent ones. The importance of discussing power quality when discussing electrical systems cannot be overstated. Although much research and development has gone into the development of devices that improve power quality. In the near future, the power quality features of intelligent electrical systems will need to be updated. A variety of factors, including but not limited to changes in load utilization, the unique demands that modern devices place on electrical systems, savvy consumers, and unpredictable demand, are driving up the cost of power quality improvement devices. To do so, novel strategies must be employed to recognize novel challenges, and make use of novel energy resources. This section discusses the various methods for improving electrical quality. Furthermore, it discusses the novel resources and challenges presented by intelligent grids. The issue of “transition conditions of power quality” has received considerable attention as a means of transitioning to the next generation of devices designed to improve power quality.
