An Automated Segregation and Storage of Onions

India is the region where the agricultural industry is most important. According to a Financial Express study from 2018, the agriculture industry contributes 17-18% of GDP(Gross domestic product). However, for many households, agriculture is their primary source of income. In that one of the major parts is onion cultivation. The onions are the main part in our daily food and in the cosmetics like shampoos, face creams, hair oils, etc. So not only the cultivation process but also in the storing of onions also care must be taken. Large number of onions are wasted every year due to lack of proper storage facilities. This causes shortage of onions and also price fluctuation occur. Despite these realities, there are still several infrastructure and technological issues that farmers must deal with. One of the key areas of the agricultural economy where people are contributing is onion storing. Till now all the methods of storing onions is done traditionally, but these methods are not sufficient for proper storage of onions. This article examines the technologies and improvements that have been suggested for the onion storage techniques. This article has proposed a solution for onion storage by controlling the temperature, humidity and moisture of the onions being stored.
