Research on Power Optical cable network Fault Location Based on Fiber Coding

in power communication system, optical cable is the carrier of communication network. Once the optical cable is interrupted for a long time, it may affect the normal operation of power business, and even cause power system blackout. Therefore, it is of great significance to study how to find cable faults in time. This paper first lists the problems in fault location of optical cable network. Then an accurate fault location method of optical cable network based on fiber coding is proposed. Finally, the proposed method is verified. The experiment shows that once the optical components in the optical cable network failed, the method proposed in this paper can immediately find out and the fault location will be given, which can greatly reduce the fault handling time.
