Calculation of Temperature Distribution for 500 kV MOA under Damp Fault

In order to study the temperature distribution characteristics of MOA under damp fault, the electricity-thermal coupling calculation model of temperature rise for 500kV MOA was established, and the temperature distribution when the arrester is damp in different areas was analyzed. The simulation results show that when the arrester is damp, the temperature rise in the damp zone is higher, and the maximum temperature rise of the arrester and the number of flanges with large surface temperature rise are increased obviously when damp areas are increased. Through infrared detection technology, some mild damping faults and all severe damping faults can be detected. According to the maximum surface temperature rise of the MOA and the heating characteristics of the flanges, the location of the damp fault can be distinguished.
