DTLMMS Based Current Control for Three-Phase Single-Stage SPV-Battery Sourced Microgrid with CCROGI-FLL Enabled Synchronization

This work illustrates the coordinated control and synchronization operation of 1-stage solar photovoltaic (SPV)-battery supported microgrid. The robust diffusion total least mean M-estimate square (DTLMMS) algorithm is employed for extraction of fundamental load current component in grid-interfaced mode. The adaptive algorithm is found to be superiorly robust for impulse noise conditions when calculating error-in-variable (EIV). Synchronization process is facilitated by complex coefficient reduced order generalized integrator (CCROGI) frequency locked loop (FLL) along with phase correction to reduce the synchronization time. CCROGI-FLL is found to have fast dynamic response with a much lower overshoot. The transient response has a better compromise between speed and damping. In standalone mode, CCROGI-FLL is also utilized for local frequency generation. The transient and steady-state responses are found to be satisfactory with total harmonics distortion (THD) of the grid fed current being less than 5%.
