DaNI – The Fire Extinguisher Robot

The most significant problem with a high death toll is fire accidents. Most of the common fire accidents are caused by flammable materials, electrical equipment’s and with human negligence. There are firefighters to extinguish the fire. As it is not possible for them to reach every location, an autonomous robot can be helpful to them. So, the intention of this paper is to design a firefighting robot using DaNI(sbRIO) by interfacing with Robotics LabVIEW. This robot is a Hard Real-Time Embedded System which can detect the fire with the help of flame sensor in short period of time, up to 100cm of range with obstacle avoidance algorithm implanted in it. Since preserving lives has always been the priority, a firefighting robot can be employed to address this issue.
