On the Possibility of Employing Heuristic Approaches to Obtain Highly Accurate Analytical Solutions

For the first time, a highly accurate analytical solution to the problem of electromagnetic diffraction on a half-plane with two-sided impedance boundary conditions has been obtained employing the recently developed heuristic method of fundamental components (MFC). The contribution of this work is that a requirement to meet the reciprocity principle was imposed for the heuristic formulas, which led to a highly accurate analytical expression for the adjustment function (previously it was found numerically).
