Simulation Analysis of Radar Range Tracking Loop of Missing Radar Pulses

The loss of pulses during the tracking process in precision tracking radar can have a great impact on the tracking accuracy. By analyzing the response of typical
$\alpha-\beta$
filter loop and
$\alpha-\beta-\gamma$
filter loop to the loss of echo pulses, the
$\alpha-\beta-\gamma$
filter loop is proposed to replace the
$\alpha-\beta$
filter loop to decrease the range residuals when the radar loses pulses. Simulations are conducted to verify the improvement effect of the
$\alpha-\beta-\gamma$
filter loop.
