Since the weakest cell in the chain determines the performance of a battery, a mismatch leads to a loss of capacity or power in charge or discharge mode. It also shortens the life of the battery, with the potential for explosion if the cells are not balanced. Therefore, a fast and accurate cell balancing system should be developed and applied for a battery pack. This research will examine different battery cell balancing techniques and assess how they relate to battery performance.
