Security and Privacy Preserving Online Student Feedback Management System

The project's goal is to develop a prototype for a secure online student feedback management system for an institute, in which only enrolled students in a specific course can send comments online at predetermined intervals. To protect privacy, each student enrolled in a specific course would be permitted to submit feedback using a unique and secret pseudonymous identity assigned to him/her, as well as a corresponding private key, via a trusted uncompromisable security server managed by the institute. Only the trusted server would be aware of the mapping between students' anonymous and true identities, which it would be able to reveal only in response to requests from a small number of institute officials. We also want to keep all feedback messages' integrity (unmodifiability) during transmission over insecure networks and at the central feedback repository. All authenticated feedback messages would be stored in a centralised repository from which application software would be able to extract, compute, and display data and information. The trusted server would be built using a threshold secret sharing system, with the server being taught only by a group of the institute's approved individuals.
