A load balancing method using load factor on unsplittable flow edges in information and communication networks

This paper proposes a method for leveling the traffic load of communication links in information and communication networks. The information communication network is modeled as an unsplittable flow network, and the ratio of flow to capacity at the edge is defined as the load factor. The problem of routing flows to equalize load factor is formulated as the UELB (Unsplittable flow Edge-load factor Balancing) problem, and traffic balancing is compared to the conventional unsplittable flow problem. This paper verifies whether the UELB problem is an effective method for traffic load balancing.
