Identifying Clone Nodes in Wireless Sensor Networks with Minimal Communication and Storage Capacity Requirements

The “sensor nodes” in a wireless sensor network are the individual devices that collect data and are powered independently. These nodes act as sensors and processors. The credentials of a compromised node can be used to create multiple identical “clone” nodes elsewhere in the network. The community could be harmed in the short or long term by the proliferation of these clone nodes. In this paper, the authors discuss a hashing-based technique that avoids the need for this information. Every cluster’s leader implements the proposed method for locating clone nodes, considering the hierarchy present in the data. The simulation results demonstrate its superiority over RDB-R and TDS.
