Discussion on thermal management of high power liquid-cooled charging components and related testing standards

High power liquid-cooled charging components are different from conventional charging components in thermal management. Based on conventional charging components, the high power liquid-cooled charging components uses liquid -cooled pipes in charging cables to remove heat from conductors for increasing the current-carrying capacity, and reduces the cross-sectional area of conductors to reduce cable weight to improve user experience. If the high power liquid-cooled charging components overheat or leakage occurs during actual use, safety accidents may occur that may endanger the personal safety of users. In order to better understand the high power liquid-cooled charging components, this paper mainly discusses the working principle of high power liquid-cooled charging components, the selection of liquid coolant, thermal management strategy and related test standards.
