Joint Range, Elevation, and Azimuth Estimation for 77 GHz FMCW Radar with A Rectangular Array

In the frequency-modulated continuous-wave radar system, the clustered ESPRIT for estimating the ranges and angles of targets with a linear array is extended to estimate the ranges, elevations, and azimuths of targets with a rectangular array in this work. What's more, unlike other methods, the new algorithm exploits the received signals from all rectangular array elements for elevation estimation, which boosts the estimation accuracy. The numerical experiments have verified its validity.
