Techno-socio-economic improvements due to optimal location of EV charging station at IEEE 22 bus using Cuckoo Search Algorithm

The adverse environmental impact due to the usage of fossil fuel has led to a paradigm shift in the automobile industry. Global warming caused due to emission of greenhouse gases has led to a transition from usage of conventional vehicles to electric vehicles (EV). The growing trend of electrification of the transport system along with the demand of EVs have led the researchers to find optimal location of the EV charging stations in a distribution network. Distribution networks are characterized by high resistance to reactance ratio. This work presents how the technical, economic & environmental benefits of a radial distribution network can be improved by optimal allocation of EV charging station. The test system considered here is IEEE 22 bus & Cuckoo search algorithm (CSA) has been used to find the location of vehicle charging station.
