A Beam-switching Millimeter Wave Radar Antenna with Minkowski Fractal Patch

A new millimeter wave radar transmitting antenna with Minkowski fractal patch is presented in this paper. Compared with previous designs, the length of the antenna array has been reduced by 8.6%. A reconfigurable radiation beam can be realized with different radiation unit element. Different working modes can be switched between the states ‘on’ and ‘off’ by controlling the PIN diode working state. Finally, a beam switching of 3 dB beamwidth is realized between

. and the angular resolution of the designed antenna is improved more than 20% compared with the original antenna.
