Planar spoof surface plasmon polariton waveguides, circuits, and antennas

Taking the advantage of the unique subwavelength electromagnetic confinement characteristics, spoof surface plasmon polaritons (SSPPs) have recently attracted increasing interest for various promising microwave and terahertz applications. In this talk, I will share our recent progress on planar SSPP waveguides, circuits, and antennas. In particular, I will demonstrate several compact planar microwave and terahertz SSPP waveguides with different unit structures. Based on these waveguides, I will also demonstrate their applications in filters, splitters, leaky-wave antennas, and vortex antennas. These works may inspire new high-performance SSPP waveguides, circuits, and antennas, offering potential applications in highly integrated plasmonic wireless communication systems.
