A Random Modulation Radar Waveform Design Based on NLFM Signals

In this paper, a constant modulus low probability of interception waveform design method is proposed. Firstly, a waveform design method for designing a random number of sub-pulses based on one frequency-modulated pulse signal is presented. The principle of this design method is to fold the signals outside the first Nyquist sampling area into the first Nyquist area, and then generate different sub-pulses signals. NLFM signal and LFM signal are simulated and tested with this method. The simulation results and measured data show that the autocorrelation sidelobe level near the main lobe of the random sub-pulses NLFM signal is low. The time-frequency diagram of the transmitting waveform is very complex and can be randomly agile, which is an effective low probability of interception waveform.
