FDA—An Ad Hoc Network Protocol with Flexible Distributed Addressing and Stateless Routing

With the rapid development of Internet technology, the application scenario of communication network is expanding, and then the application environment is more complicated, and the wireless communication network with more solid performance and more convenient - wireless Ad hoc comes into being. The nodes in the network act as routers and hosts. Currently, ZigBee provides different optimized networking strategies, but due to the fixed-length address structure design, the problem of “isolated nodes” is not completely solved, and stateful routing is generally used for The fixed-length address structure design does not completely solve the “isolated node” problem, and generally uses stateful routing for message forwarding, which causes some additional overhead. Therefore, a better address al-location protocol and routing protocol is designed and developed for the two problems analyzed above. In this paper, we first analyze the basic design requirements of current ad hoc, and according to the requirements, we propose a flexible distributed address allocation protocol(FDA), which contains a variable-length address structure, and based on this address structure, we specify the address allocation rules for the nodes in the network and design a set of stateless forwarding routing protocols. Subsequently, we tested the performance of the relevant address allocation protocol according to the design requirements. The results demonstrate that the address assignment protocol can effectively improve the node uptime and provides a good balance between the convergence speed and network control overhead, and will provide sufficient support in large scale networks.
