Wideband Isolation Reconfigurable Technique for MIMO Antenna Array

In this paper, a novel wideband isolation reconfigurable technique (WIRT) is proposed for designing wideband high isolation MIMO array antenna. The WIRT is based on the microfluidic, pump and ethyl acetate, which is adopted to realize frequency shift of the max isolation. A wideband MIMO array antenna with high port isolation is selected as original antenna array (OAA). Measured results reveal that isolation lower than −35 dB can be stably scanned from 1.9 to 2.17 GHz by turning on the reconfigurable structure. And isolation lower than −25 dB can cover the whole operation frequency band that ranges from 1.83 to 2.17 GHz. Thus, this concept provides a new idea for designing wideband high isolation MIMO array antenna.
